Try DFU restoring the phone to 1.1.4 and setting it up as a new phone as opposed to restoring from backup.

    I had this issue.
I just deleted the DCIM folder and it worked again but as you said you restored it could be a hardware issue.
But like smacman said make sure you set it up as a new phone and not restoring it from backup after DFU restoring
I believe it is because a photo is in the camera roll which wasn't taken by the iphone.
This happened to me when my iphone broke and I restored it to default factory settings but then SSH'd into the phone and placed my old photos back into the 100APPLE folder.
The photo's filename is IMG_001 ,for example, but that is what the camera need to call the photo it is about to take and therefore crashes.
That is what happened to mine, anyway.

If I helped please give a thumbs up , Thanks (Leave your username and I'll try to give you a thumbs up back)

Same problem here: phone restarts everytime I try to take a photo - and this problem seems always accompanied by another one: phone falls completely asleep in standby and needs a reboot to use it after sleep mode.

ootb 1.1.3 - ziphoned - restored to 1.1.4 - iplused - set up as a new phone in itunes - problems are still the same

    Hi guys,
I have the same problem here. For the camera, I believe it is a hardware problem, but for the sleep problem I was able to fix with Chau's tip here: http://blog.drysdale.org/2008/02/19/...amera#comments

    Hi Sivano,
My iphone also had problems with the sleep mode but fortunately I found a solution to fix it:

    1. OpenSSH/WinSCP into Iphone then go to:
    \System\Library\SystemConfiguration\PowerManagemen t.bundle

    2. Find the file:
    com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist
Then rename it to (or delete)
    com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist2

    3. Reboot your phone and your done."

    It worked for me

You think camera problem is a hardware problem.

Sleep problem is not a hardware problem ? NO. Because someone has found a solution by renaming a file.
Camere problem is not a hardware problem I am %100 sure.I am searching for this if found a solution I will write here.
