Default [Battery] Poor battery performance after battery replacement

I have a first-generation iPhone, and got the battery replaced yesterday. The new battery is rated at 1550 mAh. Charged it for 5 hours (the iPhone indicated it was full after approx. 3 hrs; battery was approx. 40% charged from the manufacturer).

I'm already down to 19% of the battery capacity. Usage: 1 hour, 58 minutes (some wifi, some calls). Standby: 17 hours, 14 minutes.

This sucks! I'm running firmware 1.1.4. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Except he said it's a first generation 2G iPhone.
Anyways, you can try re-calibrating the battery. I saw it in one of the threads here. I think you had to use it until the battery was almost dead, or out right dead. Then plug it in. It will turn on once you plug it in, just make sure you turn it off again. Then leave it for 12 hours. You may want to do a search on that, but that's pretty much what I remember.

Did you get the battery replaced by Apple or elsewhere?
A cheap asian knock-off could be the problem.
