[Battery] Full charge lasts only 14 hours on Standby.. Why?
Hey.
I bought a 1.0.2 iPhone brand new from Florida in October. Thanks to the community I've been loving my phone, had all kinds of firmwares on there, all kinds of apps..
About 2 weeks back I put 1.1.3 on there - everything was fine.
Then last Thursday my battery just started draining really fast. I'd not installed any other software or done anything.. Weird.
Thinking (hoping?) it could be a firmware/software problem, I downgraded to 1.0.2 and revirginized. Let the battery completely drain, then gave it a full overnight charge..
Still the battery lasts just shy of 14 hours..
So.. Suggestions?
Is this just the battery, or something else?
Thanks.

Have you ever attempted any hardware modifications, repairs, unlocks?

No hardware mods. No repairs.
The only unlocks are the jailbreaks and AnySIM ones that everyone else has used.

Hmm. That's not right is it? It's been on standby for MINUS 2400-odd days?!

I think I have the same problem here. After Ziphone unlocking and AnySIM 1.3... what I have observed in my case is that battery drains because Wifi will stay on even in standby mode so battery will drain 100% in less than 18 hrs... this began to happen after I placed the phone in Airplane Mode two days ago. After Turning Airplane mode off, the phone got no singal, so I restarted it averything got fine but now I observed this issue.... for now what I did was disconnecting WiFi manually. I Dont have a solution yet and still trying to find out how to solve this.

I might try this.. When you say "disconnect te wifi manually" what do you mean? Just turning wifi off in the Settings?
Thanks.
Anyone else having similar probs?

Hmm.
Ok. An update.
Even when I physically turn the phone completely OFF (red slider, etc.) the battery still drains at the same rate.
So the question is: Is this a battery issue, or something more.
Come on guys, other people must have had this happen. I can't be the first!
Thanks in advance.

Maybe you're not the first but maybe you're the only one that ins interested in a solution or the fist to notice it and began a thread...
This may be a battery problem almost sure or an internal short circuit...
Virginize and remve unlocks and take it to apple if still under warranty.

I too have battery draining issues. I went to 1.1.3 with Ziphone and all was ok till yesterday. The only app I recently installed is 1.1.3 volume boost and it seemed ok after that. Yesterday I accidentally turned airport mode on and It seems to be draining since then.
I too notice that if I leave wifi on it no longer turns off when the phone auto locks. Also, if I turn the phone off and on I get a different battery reading each time with a spread of as much as 20%.
It has to be based on an app or something thats running in the background, some app that's been recently updated or something.
I am going to bed now but maybe we can each list what apps we have installed in total and the onces installed or updated recently.

Hey. Thanks for both getting back
I bought my phone in the US while I was on holiday, I actually live in the UK, so I don't think they'll replace my phone. Heh.
As for running apps. It doesn't seem to matter which firmware, whether wifi is on or off, or indeed whether the phone is properly SWITCHED OFF. The battery still drains.
Oh well.
