[Advice] iPhone not detected by iTunes and gets very hot while charging
Hi,
This is my sisters iphone we are talking about so I do not know the exact firmware (I would have put it on the title) so I just put 1.1.1
Here is the story: a friend of hers tried downgrading the bootloader and something went wrong while in the DFU. I do not know any other details
Now the iphone has a blank screen and is totally non-responsive to anything: Hard reset, charging, connecting to computer, nothing! Just a blank screen not even an error code. It looks dead
The weird part is that when you put the iphone into the wall charger it gets really really hot very quickly, something very odd!
I have tried everything, searched for a long time and I do not know what else to do. Do I have a paperweight, or is there some way to revive this iphone?? I even tried plugging the iphone into my computer (I have itunes latest edition) to see if it can be detected but no dice.
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!
Edit: While hooked up to the USB, if I put the phone to my ear really close I can hear something working inside of the phone, and when I unplug it, the noise stops. Maybe that helps?

Thanks for the response.
I have no way of getting into the DFU because the phone will not turn on for one second. Additionally it will not recognize in itunes.
I hope its just the battery, I will take it down to the apple genius bar today to see if they can swap it out for a new iphone.
