Default [Advice] Easiest way to open an iPhone?

Please help me here, I do have searched and have videos (ifixit and many more)

But there has to be an easier way, the videos show it perfectly smooth, but once you start its not that simple.

Ive opened quite a few and have the tools included with the battery packs and lcd display packs but really didnt helped alot. Ive used credit cards, guitar picks, razor blades and many more.

There has to be a really easy and safe way to do it and would like to compile as many info as possible so I can put it all in one place for the adventurers that may want to start fixing their own Iphones.

    Thanks

Saying there's an "easiest" way to open the iPhone is like saying that there's a least painful way to stab yourself. I would assume that most of the videos are made with iPhones that either already had the covers removed (and only on lightly) or the covers have been loosened before filming from so many removals.

    This method looks really good.

    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...t=wiper+blades

I haven't tried it myself. I use zapstraps, a pair of pliers and electrical tape and it works great. No scratched fingers, and an opened iphone with no scratches after 20 min. of work. I've gotten the odd stress mark, but aside from that, it works great. Some iPhones are much easier to open than other's I've noticed.

Let me know how you do.

I've watched all the videos, studied all the photos, read all the tutorials.
They make it look so easy, but that's nothing like reality. Those iPhones HAD to be previously opened!
The truth is, iPhones are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to open. The "proper" green nylon tools don't work, the iPhone casing eats them! Once I actually found myself grasping the iPhone so tightly, the chrome bezel cut into my thumb causing a lot of arterial bleeding (no joke).

I did have a theory that maybe I could stick some very thin metal into the sides to depress those chrome metal retainers. I tried a straightened-out paperclip, it was too fat. I never thought of anything else that would work, but it sounds like the wiper blade trick is a similar theory. Unfortunately, I've never seen such metal pieces in a wiper blade stateside. The ones on my cars are 100% plastic and rubber. Chances are, if I did find wiper blades with metal pieces, they'd be the wrong size!

Heating didnt work, the metal will bend easier.

The above link definately is the way to go, havent tried it yet but it looked easy.
Now the only part that would be left is how to easily take the plastic antenna cover easily.

The antenna cover is very easy. I've never had a problem with that part. The plastic nylon tools work fairly well for that. I start at the port and work towards the back cover.

would love to see if anyone has made a proper wiperblade type opener, I used guitar picks, various guages, went through 2 green ipod openers, they lasted about 30 seconds, ditto to cutting fingers on the casing, f**ked one of the aluminium screw holders and it took about 4 hours in total.

don't do it, unless you have to.

    Bug
