Can you explain your problem more clearly and in detail? Firmware version etc. Have you connected any headphones or any other accessory to it before? The sound issue, have you removed the plastic cover that came with the phone? Lots of people report low volume and then realise they haven't removed the plastic. Also sometimes if you connect a headphone some people have reported volume issues. The sound can be low generally but is acceptable if volume is maxed.

I haven't heard of this problem before. It does seem though from your description the phone thinks some accessory is connected to it.
Maybe some file corruption, why don't you try to restore it and see if it the problems go away.

Are you getting full network? Is bluetooth on by any chance with some bluetooth accessory nearby? Short of that don't remember anyone reporting something like this. Could be a hardware issue if you keep getting that alert and voice is so low people you call can't hear you.
Are you in US, is it possible to get a warranty exchange?
