Angry [Advice] This accessory is not made to work with iphone ?

So, the other day while I was working, my hands were a little bit wet (not even that much) and i guess a drop must have fallen into the iphone socket and now I get the "This accessory is not made to work with iphone- please put on airplane mode etc" so i guess it must have been a short circuit. My issue is that I hardware unlocked my iphone and it looks like I have opened it a little bit (but can be easily fixed with a little bit of glue) so I'm wondering that if I should bring it to apple store (I live in canada so I would have to drive to the states) would they hesitate and not exchange it, or would they change it, no questions asked? Also, if exchanging it no questions asked, should I just wait till the 3g iphones come out? or exchange it asap? I think I bought it on November 9, 2007

Hey! i got same problem the text kept on showing from time to time after my iphone got wet

This accessory is not made to work with iPhone
Would you like to turn on Airplane Mode to reduce audio interference?
You will not be able to make call during this mode
    YES NO

Then it will automatically disappear around 5 seconds if i don't press YES or NO. However, i used software unlock to unlock my iphone and i can't go to the Apple store because i live in Thailand.

Were you able to fix this problem?

You could try restoring, that may fix the problem, if it doesnt then it is definitely hardware issue. I dont know if they would exchange it if they can tell it got wet and was opened. I dont think they replace phones for water damage...

ok well I haven't browsed these forums for a while but I got some great news. All of this won't be necessary anymore. Somehow, my phone magically fixed itself. I tried restoring etc but the message always seemed to come back. One day it just magically fixed itself. I have not gotten the message whatsoever since then. and now im happy again. However, I still need a case replacement because my actual case is all scratched etc from when i did the hardware unlock . Pretty weird but also, you might want to try re-seating the sim. I've read somewhere that this also fixes the problem:iphone: :iphone:

    hi all,
the message you get is not supposed to be an error instead a warning when u plug in an unsupported accessory.
Anyways,if youre certain iphone dont have any water accident history, then your first approach to fixing this problem would be to clean the butt of your iphone with a brush and plenty of spirit!
Brush really hard and after you need to keep swinging the iphone a couple of times so as to get all the spirit out of the phone. finally lay the phone to dry under a fan or something.
