It's about $8 on ebay.
What do I search for on ebay and where can I find instructions?
And yes I am soooooooo frustrated ...to the point that I am willing to take apart my phone
Tried the rubbing alcohol thing that other forums have suggested with no luck. Even emailer that 'funnysuesh' guy ... His solution requires a program to find the process causing the error message and then edit the file associated with it .... That program is not available on 2.0 yet ...

Here's a quick but temporary fix.
1. Install Quake4iphone from the Cydia installer and run the program (you only need to run the program, not play the game).
2. Exit Quake4iphone
3. You now have full functionality of the speaker until the next time you put your iphone to sleep for at least 20 seconds
Think of it as an on/off switch for you speaker rather than a game.
Not a bad patch. Certainly less risky than taking apart the phone.
Now if someone can come up with a permanent solution ... There must be something in the initialization of Quake4iphone that enables the speaker and kills he error message ...
I'm calling out all you iPhone hackers!!!!
PLEASE!!!!

New update guys!
I contacted ZodTTD author of Quake4iphone and he responded :
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi!
Quake4iphone may have some init code for a gamepad controller add-on I'm working to get up and going. The controller addon uses the dock connector. I will see about getting that code to you, if you're interested in it. I have some open sourced version of the code I can share. If it is what Im thinking, it could be as simple as opening a bsd device serial port connection properly. If not, it's something more complex in my code.
Which thread should I respond to?
Keep in touch,ZodTTD

I directed him to respond to this thread http://forums.macrumors.com/showthre...71#post6346971 so hopefully we'll hear from him soon. Please note that I'm not very savvy when it comes to code, so if anyone here could help out with ZodTTD that would be great!
