3G phones that got wet. Logic board issue?
First of all I'd like to thank those who have shared information here. I just discovered this site a few days ago and i have already gathered much useful info.
I have 2 3G iPhones I am trying to repair. They both got soaked(long story). After drying out neither would start up, I disassembled and cleaned both of them and now they both have various levels of function. One does everything I have tested properly but it thinks headphones are plugged into the jack. The other does everything I have tested properly except the backlight does not work. In the case of the backlight I would have thought it was the LCD, and in the case of the headphone jack I would blame that ribbon/jack assembly, but when I switch one logic board to the other phone and vice versa they still show the same problem as in their original home.
So logic would suggest that the logic boards are malfunctioning. Dies this behavior coincide with anyone's experience when repairing these phones? Do the logic boards fail on one function but continue on the others? I can't help but wonder if I am missing something. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I have not found many places to go for this sort of advice.
I have already restored the phones to their original configurations, it does not appear to be a software thing.
