[1.1.3][HowTo] Bottom strip doesn't work, any Software/Hardware solution ?
hi i recently dropped iphone on a concret floor and around 1 cm or the dock area of the iphone is untouchable ...i can barely slide to unlock the phone but cant press any of the dock buttons ... i think my dizitizer is messed up .
i retored n restored no luck!
i think its a hardware problem ....
i want to move my dock icons up near calendar n stuff so i can use my phone to make calls n as an ipod ....but using PC n other software.....i cant use installer or customize ..any suggerstions..just PC or win scp ...cudnt find any threads pplease helppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
i am on 1.1.3 cueently cant go back to 1.1.1 for sum reason jst playing around with the phone ...i installed touch screen manager but no luck
wht i can i do personally to fix the hardware and using software on pc to move the dock icons
i have the exact same problem, my phone was already starting to show signs of malfunction in the bottom strip... and the other day i accidentally dropped it and now the space where the dock is doesnt detect touch anymore...
i also restored the firmware... and nothing...
for moving the icons out of the dock i suggest you install Categories, using the latest installer, you can access application installation from the Featured screen... look for categories and install it... make a new category and put the dock icons in there...
ive no idea how im gonna repair this, since im in spain and the nearest apple store that will take care of my iphone is half the world away
My iPhone is suffering from the same issue ..
I did manage however to get partial functionality back I can access the Dock icons but not much lower
Try what I did,
Edit General.plist which is in Applications\Preferences.app
Add the following lines
Just below <array>
A new option will appear in the General settings called Touch.. Set the Sensitivity of the Touch Screen to 0 and try it out
Good luck hope it works for you
[TouchScreen] Bottom half now responsive..but.
That did fix my docking Icons, now I can press the phone and it comes up, but once its up, I can not choose favourites, or Contacts or Dial pad.. still no sensitive to the touch . is there other setting that I need to change??
anybody know the location of general.plist and touch.plist in firmware 2.1??
I am using iBricks and it has helped me before I upgraded. Now the Applications/preferences.app is not available. The application folder is not accessible?
Have these files been moved someplace else?
