1.1.2 OTB WiFi DOA, drains battery fast
I have this 1.1.2. OTB which came with dead wifi. The menu is just grayed out. I could even live with that but the problem is that the battery runs out in couple of hours. The phone gets mildly warm to the touch.
Is there a hardware or software way to permanently disable wifi so the battery can last longer?
Thanks in advance for all the help.

step 1: go to the store and exchange your fone for a new one, dont take NO for answer
Or ask them whats going on with your phone and that your wifi isn't working man
then come back.

That would be a first thing to do, but I'm from Europe=S
Anyone knows if I could send them the phone by mail?

I have the same problem,
i live in Indonesia, and reseller (unofficial) of iphone in here... I believe something wrong with the com board... but I don't have any guts to open it up...
it's brand new.... but the wifi doesn't work after i unlock it with ziphone...
it gets warm also... and the batery drains really fast.......
I thought the problem in the software... I dwngrade it again to 1.1.2, still doesn't work... upgrade it again... (1.1.3) still doesn't work...
still don't know what to do....

I e-mailed the apple store where I bought it in US. It was tricky to get their address because there isn't any on their apple.com page nor any other page. It was just printed on receipt. In any case they didn't respond at all. Great service. I'll give them a bit sharper letter in a few days. In any case, I'm looking for some friend of mine who will go to US and he'll try to get it replaced. Thats my only hope I guess, couldn't find any software nor hardware way to disable that wifi search which drains the battery.
