replaced my antenna today, was pretty straightforward took about 5 mins to replace it and about 30 to get the freakin black antenna cover back on!!
Must have damaged my antenna in the initial opening of the case as I was having low signal problems.
To replace you must:
- remove the two white coax/antenna cables
- unscrew the middle case screw and one on the bottom of the case where the antenna is secured
- remove the old antenna (you might have to prise the metal clip near the left coax cable up a bit to help u)
- peel the back off the new one and place it back in the same position
- put everything back (can be fiddly to get the left coax cable in)
I've got even better signal than I did before haha!!
here is the solution:
open the black case,on the left hand side, there is a little piece metal near the antenna, check if it is not attach to the antenna, if not, connect them together, solve the problem!
it is not the problem of the black case. iPhone use all the metal around the screen as the matrial of receive the signal!
Hope this will help!
guys, I'm having the same problem.
so I'd love to open my iPhone via that black part on the bottom of the phone.
is there a tutorial that shows me how to get that black part off and then again on?
thanx in advance for the info!
it's not the antenna... i just swapped one out and it did not solve problem.
edit: actually, it was the hardware, but not the antenna. instead, it was the small connector on the wire that attaches to the antenna. so, anyone having problem may wish to remove the antenna lid, and then squeeze on that left side wire/connector, and check connection. man, what a pain in the arse this little episode has been... i thought it was the baseband, seczone, antenna, etc.
