[1.1.2 OTB] Fried comm board?

Trying many times to restore f/w from DFU:

1.0.2 - hangs on "Waiting for iPhone"
1.1.1 - error 1011, phone needs repair message
1.1.2 - hangs on "Waiting for iPhone"
1.1.3 - error 1011, phone needs repair

I had read that some people have had success restoring the baseband by restoring to 1.1.3. Apparently, I am not so lucky.

Does this sound like a fried comm board?

I can't figure out what else it would be.

nop, just restore to 1.1.3, you will get your imei ecc
then downgrade to 1.1.1 and so on..
there are 2 Restore/DFU modes, if it doesn't work maybe for that, seach the forums for guides

It seems like no one else quite has this problem. I'll keep on trying.

Your problem is erased bootloader, you cann't repair it by reflashing any firmware by itunes. You have to open your iphone and do iunew to load bootloader.
