Default [1.1.2 OTB] broke wifi wire need replacement

I got the hardware unlock completed but broke my wifi antenna wire during the process.

Does anyone know of a source to purchase a new wire? I have found lots of other parts but no antenna wires yet.

Thanks to everyone for there help and support. I plan to send a donation to the Dev team for there excellent work.

Also , sorry for the dumb posts last night while I struggled for like 10 hours to get the unlock completed. In the end it was just a dumb A## mistake I was making. I would have had the unlock done in a couple hours if it had not been for my own confusion doing the same stuipid mistake over an over.

I encourage anyone with a resonable amount of hand skills to attempt the HW unlock. And if you mess the cover up a bit so what. You can buy a new one for $30 . Consider the cost of the phone, the service and the tens of hours invested into this process , whats another few bucks.

I use a microscope to do the test point which makes it really easy. I carefully scrap off some of the green solder mask on the PCB right next to the capacitor. Then you can use almost any small metal object like tweezers to connect the two points. Just scrap really lightly and slowly until a small amount of copper is exposed. Use an exacto knife to scrap.

I have been using my 1.0.2 HW unlock which I did before the first SW was available. I really love the phone. My son has been waiting anxiously for me unlock his 1.1.2 while he had just a expensive itouch. Now its finally unlocked but no wifi cause I broke the dam wire. Guess he needs to wait a bit longer.

    Thanks everyone, Good Luck.

I also frayed my wifi cable while opening my Iphone. After I finished opening the case, I turned on the phone and noticed that wifi was disabled. This isn't normal correct? I know that it's expected to lose wifi but after a baseband delete, but just after opening the case wifi should be operational, right? I know there is a little metal plate on the inside of the main metal outside cover that looks like it screws into the wifi antenna section. Does the cover need to be place back on for wifi to function properly?

What I'm wondering is that after I frayed/severed the wire (damage is right before the antenna hookup) shouldn't I still get a wifi signal, just weak becuase it's not connected to the antenna? My phone is about 4 feet from the wifi router. It seems like the wifi is disabled. In General Settings -> Wifi, it says "Not Connected" and is darkened out, not letting me click on it to search for a signal. Let me know if I'm missing something thanks.

Also I am looking to repair/replace that wire. From the links mentioned I cannot find it. I have some fine guage wire I can use inplace, but it doesn't have the outside shielding that the current wire does. The one in place is just like a miniature coaxial cable, it has a center conductor wrapped in plastic, then some outside wire mesh around it, then a final outer plastic covering. Is this mesh just used to keep out interference or does it carry a ground, etc?? Then I would need to make sure I have both contact points hooked up if I'm replacing the wire.

Any help would be appreciated. I just want to get my wifi back! Also if you guys know any repair shops (Based around Boston would be better), that could replace this wire for me if I am unable to.

    Thanks

You definately need to replace the wire with a Coax cable. You can not just use a single regular wire. I found replacements wires at http://www.rapidrepair.com/shop/4182...ae-iphone.html

$48 is kind of expensive but I could not find that it where else.

If you put the phone directly next to the wireless router and you still can not receive wifi then it probably is a SW problem not the wire. Or maybe its both.

    Good luck
