I have had a few of my friends using iPhone 3g's not the 3gs and its the same problem. It wont detect the phone it DFU mode and they have to restore their phones after trying to use GP. Does this JB not work on 3g phones? they are on 4.0 and up software but Im not too sure on the firmware.??
Redsn0w 0.9.6rc8 can jailbreak 4.2.1 untethered on the 3G iPhone. Use that instead.
Tools like limera1n, greenpois0n etc are designed for newer devices that are not pwned for life like the iPhone 3G (and 2G) are
Also to answer your PM, if you want to unlock, as you are already at 5.15 baseband your only option right now is the iPad baseband (6.15). I recommend you read up on the side effects and restore complications before you decide to use the iPad baseband unlock.
Ok cool. I was just trying to figure out why those tools wouldnt work but now it makes sense. I dont want to unlock but for future reference Ill keep that in mind. Thank you!
