xcode on pentium m 1.5 ghz?
Hi,
I need a mac for the sole purpose of coding for the iphone. I currently have an IBM ThinkPad R51 2888. The config is pentium m 1.5 ghz, 256 mb ddr2700 (upgradeable to 2gb, no dual channel support), 40gb umda @ 4200rpm, xp sp2.
I need to run only xcode tools. If I upgrade my ram to 1gb, will my system install mac 10.5? Its the single layer dvd version taken from torrents. Will it fairly fast enough so that atleast my system wouldnt crash while installing it?
What is the easiest way to get mac os on windows pc? how would it support xcode tools?
Thanks

It wouldnt crash, but it would be SO slow, it'll take around 24 hours to install, and maybe crash.
I installed it into a E6750 Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, and I still think its slow ..
I recommend getting an AMD 2 Core processor, and an Asus Motherboard.
They're both cheap and there are MANY Kexts, Drivers for Asus Motherboards.
Anything else I can help with, just let me know ;D.

If you really plan to get Iphone development to the next level (AppStore) , i recommend buying right equipment for xCode.
If you dont plan to spend much, i recommend this processor:
Processor:
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops (AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor) $55.99
Motherboard:
Newegg.com - Open Box: ASUS M4A78 PRO AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard (Asus Motherboard $69.99)
Well, you still need Sound, Ethernet, Graphics and RAM.
I think, everything would be around $400 - $750, depending on the hardware you get.
But hey, you can get that money back in 1 day or less with the AppStore, its REALLY worth it
