Windows via bootcamp? best option please
I have a Macbook Pro Intel. I have returned to school and am taking a required computer class on Microsoft Office Pro. I need to be able to run this on Windows, as the Mac version of Office is too different to use.... I need to be able to run the same program at home that I use at school.
So do I buy Windows 7 and install via Bootcamp...or via another program. I read a little online about his and wonder if I would run into any problems. I have a demo version of Office that I could run on this if I had windows. I also can buy MS Office for Windows at a student discount if i need to.
or do I buy a cheap laptop already with windows and not worry about messing up my Mac.
As you can tell, I haven't done anything like this before and am a bit skittish. I also would like to save $ if possible.
Everything was fine as long as i could finish my assigments in class, but they are getting longer and I need to finish them at home and thus my dilemma. thanks!!!!!

Install it with Boot Camp only if you need heavy performance, like with games or design programs. If you are going to use it only for Office, you can install a virtual machine with Paralells (not free), VMware (not free) or VirtualBox (free).
I use VirtualBox and works fine, and it is free.
You can also use Office for Mac, it is fully compatible with the Windows version

Success in Virtual Box with Windows 7
Thanks for your help. I am running Windows 7 now in VB, although I can't print from Windows or some reason. Please see my other thread if you can help with this.
