Where are serial numbers stored in Adobe?
I have a legit copy of CS4 installed on my iMac from work. I have the install disc, but no key. I want to install it on my new MacBook Pro. Where is the serial embedded on my iMac that I could get the number to use on the new install?
Going to 'About PhotoShop' doesn't show the serial.
Thanks in advance....

What you are asking to do is legal according to Adobe's licensing (as long as you don't run CS4 on both computers at the same time)
Take a look at this document from Adobe Find a serial number one of these techniques should solve your problem.

Thanks Olethros, but that link didn't help. I was not the purchaser of the software, therefore when I contact Adobe, they could not help. Only my IT dept. could get the information, but they are not willing to install the software on personal devices. So, back to my original question I guess, where in the Package Contents is my serial number stored? Obviously its somewhere on the computer, because Adobe checks it every time it's launched.

You probably need to go back to your IT department and point out that this is a valid usage scenario that is supported by Adobe.
Try Help->System Info or Help->Registration
Also, Adobe has many different "editions" of it's CS4 products, it's possible your IT department have used a serial number and installation media (volume licensed for example) that might not be accepted by the installation media you have access to.

Well I got the first 20 digits of the serial number. Unfortunately the serial has 24 digits. Any suggestion on what I can do besides trying 9999 numbers?

I stand by what I said earlier, if you can't find the serial # from your install, ask your IT department. Explain to them that the license entitles you to use the software at home also.
