I WAS JAILBREAKING MY GF IPOD 2G TO 4.0 FIRMWARE USING PWNAGETOOL 4.01 IT GAVE THE (1604) ERROR.
AFTER FEW TIMES OF TRYING TO SOLVE IT USING TIPS ON HACKINT0SH, ITUNES SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN AND GAVE ME A " ITUNES CANNOT BE OPENED BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM."

I WENT TO ITUNES MUSIC TO SEE MY LIBRARY IT WAS EMPTY BUT THE MAIN ITUNES FOLDER IS THE RIGHT SIZE SO MY MUSIC HAS TO BE SOMEWHERE BUT I CANT SEE IT..
CANT LOOSE MY MUSIC 11 YEARS OF WORK THANK YOU..

You are aware that writing in capital letters is the electronic equivalent of shouting your message at the reader. It is considered impolite by most and downright offensive by some. Just keep that in mind the next time you want urgent help.
Your problem may point to a deeper issue with your OS X install, however the first step should be to remove and reinstall iTunes. This will NOT remove your music (and should have no negative impact as long as you reinstall the exact same version of iTunes)
I think your iTunes version is 9.2.1 iTunes 9.2.1
Follow this procedure, but stop after step 20.
Removing iTunes for Mac OS X
Then install iTunes again and restart the machine.
