Default Time capsule - External hdd?

    Hi,

Im wondering if the time capsule has to be used for its purpose? Can it not be used as a External wifi hdd too over your home network?

As i can get hold of 1 quite cheap and dont really need to use timecapsule to back anything up an would rather use as a network drive.

    Thanks

Sure, you can use it as a wireless hard disk. It is compatible with OS X and Windows. You will have the wireless hard disk even using time machine backups
