Default Sharing iTunes library from mini to macbook.

Im sharring my iTunes library from an external drive attached to my mac mini to my macbook. Problem is permissions on music and album artwork not purchased from iTunes. Songs still play on the macbook, but, no album artwork and iTunes refuses to sync those tracks to my iphone. Everything works great on the mini.

Is there an easy way to change permissions on all the music I didnt buy from itunes and the artwork? I really dont want to go through 30GB of music changing permissions.

A little background on my setup.
The mini I have setup as a media server in my living room. All media is stored on an external firewire drive. On the macbook I have the iTunes folder, itunes music folder and iphotos library from the external drive set as login items. The idea is I can make changes to itunes and iphotos and the changes take affect on both. It works great minus the problem with itunes. For some reason the permissions on things not bought from itunes are read only on the macbook.

Any help would be great! I have been trying to find an easy way to fix this for days

Um... Not sure what you mean by the artwork stuff. From my experience, the mp3 files transferred between iTunes and another iTunes retains the artwork.

...About mass permission changing, you can select the folder, press "get info" then in the permissions, after you changed it, click on the small preference button (next to the "+" and "-" buttons) then click "Apply to all enclosed items"
(or at least that's the easy way of doing it; another way would be using terminal and typing in "chmod xxx -r")

As for a music/photo library updating system you can try something like DropBox Pro.... then change the music library to that folder; any change there would apply to the other computers when they sync. (Never tried it with itunes but it should work. It works with 1Password, so I don't see why it won't with iTunes.)

Artwork that goes with music not from itunes has bad perrmisions and a folder "old itunes librarys" probably not importent.

Going to check out Dropbox pro and thanks for the tip on the permissions! That was my only real hangup. Was not sure how to do it in batch. Thanks again!
