Default Replacing HDD in my MacbookPro Unibody -> is Seagate ST9750420AS OK?

    Good day, everyone!

I just decided to swap hard drives in my MacbookPro Unibody 17" from 500GB 5400rpm to something faster and more capacitive.
Found an interesting 2.5"HDD in Momentus 3Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive (ST9750420AS)

    So questions are:
will it fit ok inside Unibody instead of native Hitachi one?
    obviously, will it work fine?

if not ok, could you give me an advice about which HDD to use?

    Thanks in advance.

    Eugene.

    Default

    It should work fine.
I've used both Seagate and western digital 2.5" drive in MBP. No problem.
If you are using itunes/appstore to purchase apps, make sure you deauthorize the computer before swapping drive.
You may want to use tool such as carbon copy cloner to clone the existing drive to the new one. That will save you time setting everything from scratch.
Once done cloning, swap the drive and authorize itunes if needed.
