    Default Quartz 2D Extreme guide

Updated tutorial 3:37AM Friday: May 5th

Hey guys QE sucks.. cause I got Quartz 2D Extreme!

And this is how u turn it on provided that your drivers allow it.

Open quartz debugger from xcode in performance tools.

click tools - make sure that quartz 2D extreme is enabled and quartz extreme is disabled.

Check system profiler - you should now have quartz 2D extreme enabled.

Now - the trick on how to make the q2de stay on! simply force quit quartz debugger.

quartz 2D extreme is pure hardware accelleration and way better than quartz extreme - I read that at apples and in a mac forum. its like over 10x faster at times.

    Have fun!

Well quartz 2d extreme uses gpu only... so it might work for some - I cant promise anything before I get more feedback.

quartz 2d extreme is the replacement for quartz extreme and is currently being developed hence why it is set to off by default - but there is nothing that says u cant turn it on!

I'd have to do more testing, but I believe with having Q2DE on, and QE off, things stopped working...specifically the cube effect for virtuedesktops. And we all love the cube effect.
