windows user beats frearkin mac comunist ideas

so, I would like to start by broadly saying that the disk utility's ability to fix a mac os fs partitioned hdd is similar to chkdsk under windows!

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

the comunist people over at mac did not want peoples mac os's to be able to run the disk utility's feature to correct MFT errors on the hdd on which the current os is installed
(REPAIR DISK, not repair permissions)
Now isn't that STUPID!?!?!?!?!
Why would you have to use a dvd in order to just do some error repairing on your hdd.... sounds pretty comunist to me, when I think of all the people who get second hand macs these days, without the instalation disks, thus being forced to buy one..........

HOWEVER, WINDOWS IS MORE DEMOCRATIC, AND IT TAUGHT ME SOMETHING!!

As all of you may know, windows is totally able to run a chkdsk on its os partition, scheduling it for OS startup. I'm wondering why Apple did not implement this, but a very well known old reason comes to mind... sales profit..........

a lifetime user like me with a G5 iMac running 10.4.11 with hdd problems did the following thing that only a PC user could have thought of
(I'm kidding, but it might be true though..)

I got a hold of CCC for Mac, extracted my dad's slim sata hdd from his Acer laptop near midnight when he was asleep, I backed up his data, cloned my imacs hdd onto it, opened the imac, put the laptop hdd in, booted it, and I ran full disk utility diagnosis on the big sata hdd that was previously inside the iMac. After the problems were solved, I put the big sata hdd back in, all was fine, and I put my dads slim hdd back in his laptop, putting his data back.

Would you have thought of this?

THIS JUST SPARED ME BUYING A FREAKIN OS X DVD...................

Why would you have to clone your whole hard drive? There are leopard DVDs available for download all over the place, unless you only had like 10gb of data on your drive, it would have saved you a lot of trouble.

I hope you get my point. People just want to have their macs be able to run WITHOUT having to reinstall their os, or use a freakin dvd they don't own for something the os should be doing on its own.....

dude, I don't know what you're trying to say, but I am using linux mac, and windows 7, all at the same time, TOTALLY LEGAL!!!, and I am experiencing more problems and narrowminded issues with mac than with windows. Sincerely, Linux does a little better at it than mac.........

Using windows is simple:
-if you know how to clean your "house", it will stay "clean".
-if you're a lazy-but-software-pirating kinda guy, your windows ("house") WILL BE A MESS more than any other OS, because windows is very Very VERY flexible.

No one is accusing you of doing anything illegal. Thecompkid just suggested that you may be able to grab a copy of it online, legal or otherwise—remember, this community would not have survived without P2P distribution systems for our OSx86 discs. If you want to stay strictly legal, Mac OS X Leopard upgrade/reinstall discs are available at US$125 at any Apple retail store or authorized distributor. It would be your fault of not checking if the restore discs are there when you bought the mac. (this is like purchasing a windows computer without a serial.) a lot of the troubleshooting software is on that OS X disc, so if you get a lot of problems and you cannot troubleshoot, it is partially your fault; unless you do know how to troubleshoot via command line, which is helpful sometimes; that's all I have to say.

As for your computer, I'm guessing that you don't know that it's either on the list of vintage/obsolete systems or just about to make it there.

Oh, and quit whining. a simple fsck would have spared you the hours of looking for software; if you don't know how to fsck yourself then man fsck

PS. what's all this about Mac being communist or windows being democratic? they're both proprietary...
