PCI Audio I/O
I have a MOTU PCI 424x card that interfaces with a 1224 analog to digital converter in my dual 1.8GHz G5 power PC. I have had the card tested by the manufacturer and they say that it works but I am unable to get the card to communicate with the outboard converter (which also works). I have tried this with os 10.3.9 and with os 10.5. Since I have had the same problem with multiple cards and different drivers that all allegedly work I am wondering if it is related to my macs software. The computer recognizes the card and recognizes that the driver is installed but I am unable to establish any inputs or outputs, essentially the card is not communicating with the computer. I previously had a PCI sound card that worked so I also do not believe that there is anything wrong with the PCI slot itself. Is there any kind of file that I may be missing or some kind of underlying setting that needs to be changed?
I should re-phrase:
I do not believe my PCI card is communicating with my computer even though the computer recognizes the card. Does anyone know if there are certain kext files or any settings that I should look at. I am unfamiliar with the apple architecture and a better understanding of how PCI I/O would be helpful in solving this problem.
