I am about to take the plunge and purchase a new mac mini 2.56ghz 4GB ram from apple....

I have heard bad reports however about the sluggish hard drive..

Just wondered if any of you have replaced the hard drives in yours? If so what have you replaced it with? any bad experiences? Fans running more frequently etc? heat issues?

I replaced the hard drive in mine with a 250GB Samsung. I dont really remember the specs, but it writes faster, and I have faster boots with programs. It does seem to be a tad warmer than usual, but its nothing bad. It is a serious pain, and very nerve racking replacing the hard drive. But totally worth it
