kernel_task in MacBook Air and kernel extensions
I am new to this forum: I searched through it extensively and couldn't find more infos, so I'm trying to post my request.
I am trying to fix a MacBook Air 1,1 bought in March 2008.
As stated in many many forums all over the net, suddenly the MBA started showing a kernel_task using an average of 130% of CPU time.
It is supposed to be a heat issue, but *this* MacBook Air is running very cool.
On top of that, if I SAFE BOOT that machine the issue is COMPLETELY GONE.
Looking at the Console Application, it seems that in SAFE BOOT all AppleIntel*Profile.kext have been disabled.
If it's true what we can all read here, then to me it sounds that one of the disabled AppleIntel*profile.kext includes the code causing the issue.
Could you please show me how to stop the boot process from loading that kernel extension?
I am not familiar at all with modifying Mac OS boot procedure.
THANK YOU!! :-)
