    Default Kernel Panic

    A friend has a iMac G5 and he's got a Kernal Panic error, here is a screen shot of it.

    He tried using the hardware test CD that came with is iMac and it wont book up, always goes to this screen



    what is making this problem show up

    My guess is that the EFI or boot code is somehow corrupted... or else you would be at least be able to boot onto the CD. Best bet is to get it back to Apple for repairs, can't really help you here... (it's like having a totally ruined BIOS that cannot be reset.)

    You can try holding command-shift-P-R. But I doubt that would make any difference.
