Question Impact of L2/L3 cache on Design/Drafting purposes?

    hi all,

    I am debating the difference between a 3mb L2/L3 vs 4mb L2/L3 cache.
Most of my applications will involve processor intensive tasks like design, drafting and simulation.
How much of an impact will it make on the overall performance.
There are some websites out there that explains bottlenecks that might arise because of a lower L2/L3 cache.
I am very interested to know now than after getting the macbook.
I will not be using it for any games.
I have read that the difference will not be THAT much with synthetic (low impact processes) applications.
So this is serious stuff, I don't want a 7 hour sitting of work to crash just like that.

    Suggestions and Comments welcome

    Default More is better...

...if you look at the AMD phenom processors, there's a significant performance jump from the 2mb L3 quad core to the 6mb L3 quad core. How much the bump will be from 3 to 4, I can't say but more is better.
