i removed my toshibas screen its a laptop and would like use it as an external monitor are there any cable converters or something so i can change the plug from whatever it is to mini dvi or other things

Not really... most laptop displays use a signaling system (like LVDS) that's very different from VGA and DVI. There are converters, but they're expensive (more than a new monitor) and would require a significant amount of work to get working.

damnit i wanted to do the same thing with my old compaq presario's screen on my macbook. it's a piece of junk anyway, and it'd be cool to have it mounted on the wall and run my iTunes visualizer or something on it. is there any way to hack it into DVI format maybe?
