Error 43 is "File not found; Folder not found; Edition container not found; Target not found"
the "-" must be an illegal character for the filesystem...

Error 36? Haven't seen one since the samba connection problems...

It does look like however you have a permissions or corruption problem. Try checking the "ignore ownership on this volume" box in the Info window.

If it still doesn't work, verify and repair the filesystem in Disk Utility...

    Looked up 36 at Apple...

There are three reasons behind emergence of Mac error 43 one is permissions issue, and/or a non-existent share point.

    Default Do try this

I got the same problem a few months before. I realized it was the drive fomrat (volume format) which caused issue while transferring large files. I had to set the volume format to "Mac OS Extended" instead of my earlier FAT32. It worked for me. More details here: Optimum Systems: Mac Error Code 0

Well the issue is one thing that not enough persons are speaking intelligently about. I am very completely satisfied that.
