    Default Disable Safe Sleep

Disable Safe Sleep (pseudo hiberbate), especially useful if ram is misreported - sleepimage is created the same size as reported ram.

To check how much space you are losing, open terminal and:
    Code:
    ls -l /var/vm/sleepimage
    To disable:
    Code:
    sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
    sudo rm /var/vm/sleepimage
    reboot

    to enable again:
    Code:
    sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 1
    reboot

Cool tip. Are you familiar if you can disable the other types of sleeps and only use hibernate?

I'm not convinced it was even working on my system, rather just creating the large sleepimage

    here is a good article:

    Thumbs up hmm

Im more interested in IF its possible to have safe sleep on intel hackintoshes...

Also would love to know what all the numerical switches are
    i.e 0 > off, 1 = on, etc

I tried pmset with 3 as I read in a tutorial and it seemed to work in so much as it powered the machine off, but when power was applied the machine did wake up but just had a little 640x480 blue window which appeared to be in 8 bit.

So close yet so far hehe

Intersting thread though; I know someone who was urgently trying to find some extra space on his pb; im sure this will assist!
