Default Change the "Windows" name in the bootloader.

    Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to change the name in the bootloader (holding down the option key when booting) from Windows to something else? I installed Linux on a second drive and want to change the name.

Now I can see "Machintosh HD" and "Windows". None of the partitions is named Windows either so I have no idea where to edit it..

I know about rEFIt and all but I don't want that for now.

You mean you installed linux but the mac firmware shows linux as windows? Well in that case it's the firmware that acts as bootloader and changing it isn't possible. I also tried to install linux to an external firewire HD, but the firmware doesn't support booting other OSes from firewire (MacbookPro late 2007).
