    Default Bootcamp HELP!

    hey everyone.

i recently got a macbook pro 2.53 ghz 4gb of ram (christmas!!!) and i was wanting to set up bootcamp.

i really wanted to know something before i pursuit this.

1)i have a modified version of windows xp and was wondering if i was still able to install this in bootcamp without it stuffing up or reading as a hacked version not allowing me to go further?

    aalso, slightly off topic...
2)i have installed crossover games and steam(with it) and when i run a game (track mania nations) i am given a white screen and the comp freezes. does anyone know why and/or have a solution? (i was also given a message when i first launched the game saying that it couldnt identify my video card?)

    3) if i install windows with bootcamp, will steam work more successfully on windows than if i ran it with crossover on mac osx?

    4) finally, will my mac slow down if i install a fair few applications and programs?

any help would be greatly appreciated!
    cheers!

Crossover can't identify the graphics card properly so thats why the game runs horridly. Bootcamp is just like making a second partition on your drive for an install so your xp version won't matter, Yes using the full install of XP will make the games run much better, hope you have your initial mac install cd for drivers.

    Thanks for the reply!
So this means if installation fails I can just go to mac and delete the windows partition?
Also do you know if the drivers are standard for all xp versions including modified version?
Sorry I just want to make sure I don't screw anything.

    Cheers

Drivers are OS specific for XP so you should be fine.

After you install Windows XP, run your OS X install disc and it will install all of the drivers for the macbook pro. You can remove the Windows XP partition after if you don't want it.
