I messed up with the downgrading part. I realised that I was using itunes 7.6 after downgraded it. installed itunes 7.5 only to find that it couldnt recall the iphone. Now I cant restore it back to 1.1.2 using the same method as above.

So how do i restore the locked OTB 1.1.2? Can anyone help please?

    there are two types
    restore mode and DFU mode
restore mode: iphone shows connect to itunes graphic
DFU mode: iphone screen blank but itunes sees iphone in restore mode

    Question

    Hi,

I've done a few jailbreaks now with this guide but this time I've got a problem. I've followed each step exactly, when I get to running the jailbreak.jar I get an error message saying Oktoprep needs to have been run first. But I have installed it as per the instructions, I've repeated the process 3 times now with the same problem.

    Any help greatly appreciated

The "should" part is all the more worrying. I just don't want to be updating the phone and then find out that O2 is not working at all (payg) and that the baseband has been updated... or that its now impossible to downgrade and get things working as they were originally.

; if there are any original users of this FAQ who *have* updated to 1.1.3 and are fine.. can you confirm this, etc.. and anything to watch out for?

well then, the iphone is in the restore mode. The screen shows connect to itunes and itunes detect it in restore mode.

    What should I do now?
