finally got to 1.1.2.....please add that AFTER JAILBREAK JAR(JAVA LAST STEP) THE PHONE MAY NOT REBOOT BY ITSELF AS SAID, AT LEAST MINE DID NOT, NEED TO RUN IINDEPENDECE TO KICK OUT OF RECOVERY MODE ONCE MORE...THANX AND GOOD LUCK.

iNdependence or iBricker for WIndows PC users

i followed the guide and now my iphone can only be used as a ipod but when i insert my sim it says u need an approved sim...
the guide was carried out with atnt sim in it..

where did i go wron??? plz plz plz help

now that 1.1.3 is out. is it save for all those who jailbroke their phone with this great thread to update or not even if i,m on 02,

It obviously isn't safe to update to 1.1.3, but this poses a problem:

I've successfully downgraded the phone to 1.1.1, but how do I proceed when I reach the stage of updating to 1.1.2? iTunes will only let me update to 1.1.3

^ Ive got pretty much the same question..... I assume we can update to 1.1.2 the same way we downgraded to 1.1.1, Ive already downloaded the 1.1.2 update (iPhone1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore.ipsw) just waiting for someone to confirm.

well, what sim are you trying to use? only at&t sims work in newer iphones

I have tried doing an update with the update file, but my phone is stuck in the recovery mode.

I spent pretty much the whole day jailbreaking my 1.1.2 ootb iphone and after doing the same thing wrong probably 5 to 6 time i finally realised what i needed to after you have installed oktoprep you need put you iphone in the dock in normal mode (not recovery), then you need to shift click update (i kept doing restore....doh!!) in itunes select the 1.1.2 update(that you should have downloaded before hand). then go on to the jailbreak step...and that should be it.

i had to restore to 1.1.1 first then install, OktoPrep, BSD Subsystem and Open SSH, without those when i pressed shift update and selected 1.1.2 (previosuly download) it just put the iphone into recovery mode. After this its just the same as the tutorial
