    Unfortunately I have only gotten this far;

    3) Launch up iTunes. It'll say your iPhone is in restore mode. Press & hold the apple
key + alt key, then click on the restore button. A window will popup, now locate
the downloaded 1.1.1 ipsw file, and press OK.

    When I go to select the file it opens up the contents which are;

    022-3602-17.dmg
    022-3629-9.dmg
    022-3630-9.dmg
    Firmware (which is a folder)
    kernelca...18900xrb
    Restore.plist

I don't know which to select, I was tempted by restore but don't fancy an iBrick!! I would really appreciate some help. I'm sure I'm just being stupid.... I'm so desperate to get it going! Pls help.
the .ipsw has been unzipped. zip it up and change the extension to *.ipsw

One more thing aswell. Does it make a difference what sim is in it whilst i do the unlocking? I have got my T-Mob in. Cheers
this guide does NOT LET YOU UNLOCK
the tmobile sim wont work without a turboSIM

I can't read this entire thread, so I have a quick question.

I have a 1.1.2 OTB phone. I intend to use it with AT&T, so anySIM unlocking isn't necessary.

Can I downgrade it to 1.1.1, jailbreak it, and activate it for use on AT&T?

The end result would be a phone that is
1.1.2 OTB (out of the box- 4.6 bootloader)
    jailbroken
    activated on AT&T

    Thanks

Will I have to go through any kind of activation through iTunes, or should my SIM card simply enable the phone functions?

I'd like to take my other 1.1.1 phone and run anySim on it to give to my sister on T-Mobile,

Dowload iBrickr if you don't already have it...
Use the "Application" option to browse applications to install.

    Find the application entitled "DOCK"

    Install DOCK using iBrickr.

Dock is a program that puts a small amber spot in the bottom right corner of the iphone display.

When you press there, it pulls up a scrolling list of the applications on your phone.

If you have "Customize" installed, you should be able to access it using "DOCK"...
once you access "Customize" you should have the option to reorder your icons, and make them visible or invisible.

So, in case you dont' have any of these programs installed, do this:

    Install iBrickr on your PC
Using iBrickr- Install "DOCK", "Sumerboard", and "Customize"

These 3 programs will enable you to edit your icon options, and add scrolling to your iphone springboard (home screen)

Just to get some closure on my earlier question, I was able to install my other iPhone sim card on my new 1.1.2 OTB jailbroken phone. Everything is working perfectly now that I've upgraded back to 1.1.2 after oktoprepping the phone.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I was pretty sure this was going to work out, but I hate to jump into something and end up with a bricked device unnecessarily.

hi, can i just run my turbosim on 1.1.1 cause im having trouble upgrading to 1.1.2....after jailbreak jar tells me it successfully finishes it never reboots, i tried to to reboot the phone but it remains in recovery phone, between the 2 tutorials this is my 7th time doing this and im tired..my turbosim is coming and i wanna use it on 1.1.1 is that cool?
btw in both tutorials it seems using iindependence to kick boot from recovery is a sinch or takes couple seconds..it takes me 5 minutes each time..is there a problem there?
    thanx
