After numerous attempts at the 1.1.2 jailbreak...I now get the error message 'cannot connect to device. Plug iphone into computer....' after clicking on the jailbreak.jar file.

Why won't this work for me????

Any ideas much appreciated.

what a great guide my phone is now unlocked for use as an ipod etc. getting excited about the Unlock so i can use it for any sim card.

does itunes pick up the iphone
you could try it on another computer...

After I've used itunes to update back to 1.1.2 the iphone goes back to displaying the usb cable and the itunes disc, and itunes goes back to the original o2 welcome screen. Is that supposed to happen? I then load the 1.1.2 jailbreak file and open the jailbreak.jar file and have the message ''cannot connect to device. Plug iphone into computer...."

I will try to use a friends computer to do the itunes 1.1.2 update and 1.1.2 jailbreak.

After the 1.1.2 itunes update is the iphone supposed to go back to displaying the usb cable and itunes disc or not???

make sure you are running oktoprep
also, once youve updated to 1.1.2, quit itunes and itunes helper (using either task manager (windows) or activity monitor (mac)) then run the jailbreak

if that fails, try this guide. it has screenshots to help. please note its 3 pages long, its not immediately obvious. its also for mac, but the part youll need (page 3) will work for windows as well...

Hi All,

I currently have a Jailbroken UK 1.1.2 IPhone, it is on a proper O2/apple contract so everything is legit (I used to get Visual Voicemail before I did a jailbreak) so I’m wondering how to get visual voicemail working as I am on a proper contract with o2 or is there no way to it as its Jailbroken??

Now it only dials voicemail.

Any help would be much appreciated (I’ve done a lot of searches with no luck) & my O2_UK.plist got deleted (if it’s what I need then I need the file) and replaced with an unknown carrier.plist, in order to sort my edge connection. (I’m using windows), (have tried the 1750, 60)

A) Okey firstly, please read the following. This solution will only work for O2 iPhone Tariff Customers!! What you need to do is SSH into the iPhone, and issue the following commands:

rm /var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.carrier.plist

ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/O2_UK.plist /var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.carrier.plist

rm -f /var/root/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

please note, you do this in terminal on a mac or (i think) command prompt on the pc
if your on a mac, i can walk you through, or give more guidance, those instructions arent that clear
