Also, is the youtube fix on this site?
the ebay seller may be correct
although it wont cost you anything, there are many people working for a free solution
firmware 1.1.3 MAY bring an unlock but no one knows for sure until it is released
youtube fix is on here, use the search feature

Hi everyone!
First of can i just say Thank you for this post and all the hard work everyone is putting into this community, i successfully bypassed activation on my new iphone today and its all up and running great! Thank you!
I do have one question though, when I bought the iphone the serial number on the box was scanned, so o2 are aware that the iphone of my serial number is still pending official activation, could this be a problem? could o2 or apple pick up i haven't properly activated and brick my phone? I read that some people were trying to deliberately fail the credit check in activation to leave the phone partially activated, would this get round the problem? And if so how do i now go back and try that now I have already jailbroken? Sorry this has probably been asked a lot but i couldn't find much luck searching, only conflicting ideas.
Thanks so much for all the help!

all i can say is so far, no iphones have been blocked since their launch in june
you dont need to bother faking the fail check, the way this activation hacking works is by making the phone 'factory activated' - meaning any sim card can be used
iphones cant be bricked/locked etc unless a firmware update is performed on the phone
afaik it should be ok, but i cant predict the future
like i said, many iphones arent officially activated. 25% of american iphones arent activated, you should be ok

pgilder - can you help? You seem to be very knowledgable and hopefully you can help me.
I have a new 1.1.2 iphone which I have managed to follow the instructions for activating as far as downloading the jailbreak for 1.1.2. However, when I open the folder and click on jailbreak.jar and jailbreak, an error message says itunesmobiledevice.dll not found.
I feel like I'm so close yet so far. Please help!

try this, i didnt do this in windows so im not sure if its right, although most sites say something similar:
copy iTunesMobileDevice.dll from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\ to the directory where the jailbreak files were extracted

Well first of all, tanks for this great tutorial, it worked for me (jailbreak only, and stayed on 1.1.1), week 47 US phone, waiting for the unlock here in Nicaragua.
but... i started to install and uninstall a lot of app in my phone to know them, and after making my list of useful apps, I decided to restore my phone and start over...
and now i cannot jailbreak it, i followed all the steps as i did before, but after installing installer.app the phone wont restart, it stay in the slide for emergency screen and nothing more happens...
please, can somebody help?
