Cannot find it in the guide and without any SIM unlock the phone should still be locked on the included SIM card, not?
It is step 7
It is a semi sim unlock in that it allows you to use any o2 sim "pay as you go" or "contract"
UK iPhone 8gb (week 44) 1.1.2 firmware, modem 4.02.13_G Sim Unlocked on O2

Trunkz,
I scoured the net for this. I had almost given up and decided to wait for the proper AnySIM 1.2 release that works with the upgraded baseband firmware.
Then I found your article.
I can 100% confirm that this procedure works. I have unlocked and activated two UK O2 iPhones and am currently using O2 contract sims in them perfectly fine.
Every part of the phone appears completely operational, including EDGE support in selected areas
Big kudos.
P.

So you do have that path in your Mac? because I don't?

The opt/local/lib filepath was the file i downloaded from the link

Should i do this with the sim card in that i got with the iPhone or my pay as you go O2 sim?
-
So this does work?
full work and has not problems in the end of it?

i got around the error from step 4..
the opt directory is hidden in leopard so i followed these steps, an old post but seemed to work for me.http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/.../t-112682.html

It has worked for me, fully under windows, (i'm in the uk) although i wish i hadnt accepted the O2 contract, but not to worry, i actually get a better signal than T-mobile at my house. There should be no reason why this doesnt for for he people in the UK who bought their phones from O2 and co
