Can anyone help!,

I have an activated iphone with o2 with an iphone tarrif (1.1.2 OOTB)

I have used the mentioned guide to jailbreak and install third party apps!, worked a treat!, phone even stayed activated when updated back to 1.1.2, woohoo,

But....... it wont work with any other o2 sim cards!!!???,

my mate has been offered a second hand iphone for £200 coz the girl cant get on with it, apparently!... (must be blonde!)

That too is activated properly through itunes,

He will get it, if it will work with his existing O2 contract sim card.
But assuming it is just like mine!, it wont!!.

Is there another step that i need to do to get it to work with any o2 sim card?

i dont know what youve done with your phone, unless you didnt change the lockdownd (if this didnt get changed, only the original sim will work in it)

for you mate, i would say restore to 1.1.2 (to basically get it back to OOB state) then follow this guide. this will let him use any o2 UK sim in the iphone

I can't see anywhere in the guide that tells you to do it!, I searched the page too but nothing!

Where can I get it?, How do i change it, and where do i put it?

I have googled but found no actual links to the file

oh sorry i was thinking of the old method (that i used)
this guide was updated to the new method
the lockdownd is replaced when fw 1.1.2 is jailbroken
if youve followed the instructions correctly, every o2 uk sim should work

Well actually after a lot of digging I eventually found it and manually put it on my phone and hey presto!, worked like a charm!!

I thought i was actually using the latest 1.1.2 jailbreak, as it included the extra button 'boot from recovery' which has seldom been mentioned in guides and replaces the need to install INdependance to kick it out of recovery mode!

Anyway, i guess i'll try the jailbreak listed at the beginning of this thread and see if that works, it'll save me having to load the file manually.

Thanks very much to Trunkz (& cheesypeas for the Win tips) for a great tutorial. Works exactly as described, new iPhone from Car Warehouse -> 2 hours later jailbroken and activated & working with any O2 sim card & no £35/month contract. Excellent!

Hello, I have read this thread a few times and am about to jailbreak my us otb 1.1.2 iphone. I wanted to use AT&T with the iphone but didnt want to extend my contract. I just wanted to know when to put my ATT sim card in. Hello to all.

I have tried 3 times to activate my iphone 04.02.13_G and no luck. I have arrived to the last part, where i need to wait for iphone to restart (after going to jaibreakme.com and clicked on "Install AppSnap") and nothing...

Few questions:
Why do i need to go to jailbreak.unlockthatiphone.com. What does that page do to the iphone?
How long lasts the installation of AppSnapp? My iphone go to that "Activate Iphone" screen 4-5 seconds after I have clicked on "Install AppSnap".

Is there any other way to activate 04.02.13_G?

Ow... is it possible that apple have changed 1.1.1 firmware so it could not be activated? Anyone have 1.1.1 firmaware downloaded a week earlier?
