Little update. I replaced the above kexts and now I have the grey screen problem, instead of the gaebled graphics problem. I don't know if I resolved a problem I had and have yet another problem or if I just replaced one problem with another.
It is also possible that in all the things I tried, I messed up something else along the way and forgot to fix it. The fact is, replacing those did something so it may be worth a try for someone else.

Ok, so I replaced the IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext with the ones from Snow Leopard and then I also moved all the Lion Geforce and NV related kexts to the trash and copied all the Geforce and NV relates kexts except the Geforce7xxx kext from Snow Leopard, repaired permissions and rebooted to find full resolution and function.
The second part of that may not be needed for some, I could have just messed it up somewhere along the line. So try the first two files first before messing with the Geforce and NV kexts.
