Hi,
I had everything running perfectly but just needed to get XCode installed for development work. Downloaded the free Xcode from Mac App Store and during the install, it crashed the OSX. There was nothing I could do at that point but reboot and try again. Unfortunately, whatever XCode was installing, it affected some files since the following occurs during boot.
There are also couple of other kexts not found like:Code:... kxld[com.apple.driver.AppleRTC]: The Mach-O file is malformed: Invalid magic number: 0xbebafeca. Can't load kext com.apple.driver.AppleRTC - link failed. Failed to load executable for kext com.apple.driver.AppleRTC Kext com.apple.driver.AppleRTC failed to load (0xdc008016) Couldn't alloc class "AppleRTC" ...
AppleHDACOntroller
NVDAResman
Geforce
NVKernel
and this error too, repeated twice
The last line of the boot log isCode:** AppleSMBusPCI::start failed to get acpi path for provider
and then nothing.Code:USBMSC Identifier (non-unique): 575845393038584E46383234 0x1058 0x704 0x105
I tried the usual -v -F -x -s and other boot flags with no help. I'm going to try booting from an install USB and see if it's possible to login at least to run some sort of a repair or reinstall the corrupted kexts. If anyone had similar issues, did you manage to fix and how?
thanks
