MacOSX Lion 10.7.4 Update Broke My VMWare
Hey ...
I dunno if it's the right place to post this, but I was running a Perfect Lion 10.7.3 on VMWare WS 8.03 last night, but after 10.7.4 update it's stuck on Apple Logo for an hour or more after which it boots !!!! Is that normal for it to take an hour or more to boot up ? I dunno if there is any way to rescue it without having to do it all over again n staying on 10.7.3 ..
I know that that isn't really a Hackintosh but it's all I can afford .. Do not have many HDDs or machines to do it on .. VMWare is the tool at hand ....
Anyway help ?

VMWare install usally don't run vanilla, I think you blew up your kexts with the update ;( You need to preserve the needed kext (your bootlaoder should be able to by a special location) and get the install right.

I dunno what you talking bout, but after Paching VMWare to support Vanilla OSX I just installed Lion as if it were a supported Guest meaning NO Bootloaders used, NO extra Kexts were added .. Completely Vanilla ...
And as an update to my issue I FIXED IT !!! Just needed some extra Kexts for 10.7.4 to boot right :
1- Install 10.7.4 Combo Update
2- DO NOT RESTART
3- Use Kext Wizard to install below Kexts
4- Repair Permissions
5- Reboot via Combo update
6- EnJoY Your Lion 10.7.4 VM
Required Lion 10.7.4 Kexts :

I have the same problem. I restarted before seeing this post. Is there anyway to fix my install?

I had this happen but I restarted before making the kext changes. I was able to mount my lion drive from a debian installation and I copied the kext folders into /System/Library/Extensions. I still have no joy in restarting. anyone one know what I'm doing wrong or what I am missing.
I'm not sure what TechXero means by step 4 and 5 above.
