Default Identify this sound problem please. Audio hissing/nosie issue

This has been bothering me on my build since SL.

Please listen to this sound and let me know if you can identify the problem:

As you can imagine this is incredibly annoying! I work with sound and music some of the time so it can really drive me mad.

I dual boot with Win7 and there is NO SOUND ISSUE there! So it must be an audio kext or something like that.

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Hackintoshes, this rig was built by a friend.

I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can identify and perhaps solve this issue.

    Thanks!

I had a similar problem. Turning down the volume on my sound setup [subwoofer] then adjusting the volume in Menubar seems to have solved the problem.

The sound you posted sounds like "cross-talk" between your sound setup and your machine.
Try moving cables, etc, around so they are isolated as much as possible from your machine.
