iAtkos L2 on HP Pavilion DV6-6160ew - installer cannot boot up
I was trying to install iAtkos L2 on my HP Pavilion DV6-6160ew laptop, but there seems to be a problem. Every time I try to boot up the installer, it doesn't even start the installation. It only gets as far as the screen which says "Press any key to boot up...". If I do press a key, the progress bar stops and nothing happens(I waited a really long time). If I don't, the progress bar finishes and nothing happens. What can be the reason for this?
Here are the specs:
HP Pavilion DV6-6160ew
Intel Core i7-2630QM
Intel HM55 Express Chipset
Intel HD Graphics + AMD Radeon HD 6770M
IDT High Definition Audio Codec
ethernet - Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
wifi - Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030
SATA hard disk, IDE optical disk drive
the hard drive has MBR, three primary partitions, one with Windows 7
PS/2 touchpad and keyboard

I suppose you have a pc with windows and there the. Dmg iatkos l2, remember to record the image with nero or do not use TransMac ultraiso
I tenog an HP and when you start preciono f9 to ask me So I boot device and select the optical drive there
I have a different laptop than yours but with the same chipset ( HM55 ) and i installed iAtkos L2 with some degree of success ( there is no kext/driver for my wirelles ( atheros 9485 ) and graphics - Intel HD Graphics from i3 processor Arrandale ) . If you had resolved the problem of booting from DVD / USB like the above user tell you or 'read the f... manual' there will be (maybe) some problems witch you may encounter .
For my i3 380m processor i have resolved these with : busratio , cpus , -v , npci . My install process was : first I burned iAtkos dmg file from windows on an USB stick ( larger than 4 GB ) with Transmac - free for 15 days . I also ave a DVD with iATkos created with nero from dmg file , but USB is much faster and easier to use. Once this is done you must start your HP and select to boot from USB or DVD respectively. Then you must stop the automatic bar / countdown of booting by pressing any key . You can now run the installation and kernel ( default mach_kernel ) with parameters . For me , on this phase , mandatory was : cpus=1 busratio=19 . For you busratio=20 . You can also put -v as a parameter for verbose mode...
If all is good you will get , eventually ( for me was a 4 minutes process ) into graphical installation mode. Since I don't have a discrete graphic card , only the intel HD Graphics I can not tell you to install or not drivers for ATI but i recommend to install only drivers for PS2, USB , none for graphics or network . You will have plenty of time to do that later. Let the bootloader install by default .
Ok, you must successfully complete the installation ( with confirmation screen ).
since you have windows also installed , on next boot please chose windows . Now in windows you can see files on mac partition with mac drive ( Mediafour Corporation ) and delete from /System/Library/Extensions all kext with name like appleHdGraphics . Now you can boot into iatkos lion if you write this cpus=1 busratio=20 -v npci=0x2000 as parameters for kernel .
Eventually you will have a graphic interface of 1024*768 , configure your user account , install new kext for graphic card ATI , sound, network etc etc etc
You can put parameters in /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist search with google for that ...
