Default First time hackintosher, components and method check.

    Hi,

I am complete newb to the hackintosh scene so just wondering if you guys could run a sanity check for me.

Done alot of googling and for my budget this is what I have ordered to date:

Dell optiplex 755 MT with current spec (Intel Core 2 Duo 'E4400' CPU @ 2GHz,2GB* (2048MB) DDR2 system RAM,160GB SATA hard disk drive
, Intel Extreme G33 series graphics (VGA port))

I have purchased a intel core 2 quad cpu Q6600 chip only and a new graphics card which is a ZOTAC-GeForce-8400GS.

From what I can tell this is is all compatible and should be okay to go ahead with. The intention is to install Lion and then increase the ram capacity to 8GB as I wish to run logic and CS5.

I based this on a wiki link which had guided me through how to install, unfortunately the link is now dead and I wondering if anyone has a walk through guide (bearing in mind my newb status) that would help me complete the task.

I suggest you do a vanilla install. If you don't find a good guide on how to do that, could you try to go to irc.osx86.hu and join #lion. The guys there might be able to help you with a vanilla install.
