Default Can't format external Seagate HDD for my Hackintosh...

I just bought a new Seagate Free Agent 1TB, usb 2.0/3.0 HDD. I want to use it as a dump for video files on my old iBook Power PC while on the road and then connect it to my Hackintosh for editing.
I successfully formatted it on my iBook Power PC running OS 10.4.11 but it does not show up on my Hackintosh. Tried all partition schemes avail on Disk Utility: GUID; Apple Partition Map; Master Boot Record.

I'm formatting as Mac OS Extended (Journalled).

I never play around on the PC aspects of my Hack-- just use it as a Mac so I'm pretty nooby with anything PC. Not even sure how to open up the Vista 64 system on this.

This is probably a common prob- any help appreciated.

    Gigabyte EP45-UD3R
    intel P45 express chipset
    NVIDIA graphics card i.d. 0x0641
    Antec enclosure

Solution found: took it to savvy friend's place and tried reformating there on his PC, tried to use the useless Paragon utility found on Seagate site (Paragon NTFS driver for mac would not open, no way!) then reformatted back to Apple Partition Map, Mac OS extended (journalled). Following my friend's counsel, i returned home and tested this on the iBook. Reimported video footage successfully. Put drive on my Hackintosh, still no joy. Then disconnected the USB hub and went directly into the computer. Success. It was just the cheesy USB hub that was screwing me up. Lesson learned. Hope this helps someone else.
