    Default AMD PC on Lion

    Hi,
So I'm about to buy an Acer Revo 100 but it has an AMD processor. I'm gonna scrap W7 for Lion but as all hackintoshers know... NEVER USE AMD FOR ANY COMPUTERS! AMD is manditory for this computer but I heard that with the right kexts you can use AMD. What kexts do I need and can how do I install

    P.S.
Here's the link for the computer.

Lion isn't ready for AMD yet. Wait till the kernel hackers get stuck into the problem. They had to wait until apple released the open source code for the kernel (which Apple has done now) so they have really only just started.

Some people have discussed trying a Frankenstein combination of 10.7 and a 10.6.8 64 bit kernel. You are asking for trouble trying this - it supposedly worked with the Lion betas but is likely not to work with the final release.

If you MUST purchase this computer, then be prepared to run 10.6 on it for a long time (possibly ever)

I am ONLY referring to the kernel/CPU, I have not and will not look at the whether specific KEXTS are available to support the other hardware in this laptop.

I must have this computer because of the functions.

    1. Whats an ETA to how long I have to wait?
    2. How do I install Snow Leopard on this computer?
    3. Is there anybody making the AMD kernel?
    4. I BEG YOU, PLEASE ALSO CHECK IF THE WIRELESS KEYBOARD/TRACKPAD WILL WORK!

Sorry if you thought I was acting bossy.

As long as it takes (I'm not involved and have no idea how long it will take)

First you need to verify that there is support for the devices in that computer. A glossy website from the vendor doesn't give enough detail for anyone to verify that.

They don't make an AMD kernel, they just patch the existing kernel to support AMD
I don't know who is developing this, what I do know is that one of the key developers of AMD support for older OS X versions is sick and can't work on getting AMD supported on Lion.

I don't know what specifically you are referring to (do you mean the Apple wireless keyboard/trackpad or some other vendor's similar solution) Please be more specific.

Also.. try to do your own research before posting and asking questions that a quick google search can answer. I'm more of an iOS guru than an OSx86 guru and I'm sure with a bit of searching you will find the answers you require (saving my time for proper moderation tasks)
