Default [Youtube][Solution] Fix 1.1.3 Ziphone "Cannot Connect"

Ok here you go for all of you who still can't get youtube working after using ziphone here's what i did and it worked.
get the lockdownd from http://tinyurl.com/2o6kla and replace the lockdownd in /usr/libexec
get these files http://www.macriot.com/support/thethreefiles.zip place them in /var/root/Library/Lockdown/
delete all files in the the activation records folder.
    Restart phone

Added 2/17/08. For those who need or want to be spoonfed go elsewhere. There are a ton of ways to upload and download files n the iPhone. I used winscp. For those stating this doesn't work or slowed your phone down I personally attest this fix works. It is a combination of all the incomplete suggestions out there. If someone wants to dumify this method go ahead I have neither the patience or time. Don't state this doesn't work justbecause you fail to do it correctly.

This does not work at all. I followed the directions he had and after a reboot my phone was extremely slow and unresponsive. I was able to get into youtube but I still got a connection error.

Luckily I backed up my files before loading everything so I was able to restore them before I got too excited and wrote these worthless files over my good ones.

Don't try this tweak, it doesn't work.

try adding http://hacxip.com to the installer sources, and then install "YouTube Fix", it fixed it for me.

    Default Oh yes it works

This worked great. I have tried every single youtube fix out there and this one worked the first time. I had my doubts and this was the last resort but it worked and works even better now i think. To those who said its hard to understand his instructions i dont know what mucjh more he could tell you to do but just read his step by step instructions and believe me it works. Thank you very much for this helpfull youtube 1.1.3 fix. Do use this tweak it works.

This did not work for me. It seems like it is the same fix as trying to replace the lockdown files. I still get "Cannot connect to YouTube"....

Again I have a 1.1.3 OTB with the ZiPhone GUI unlock.

    Any other ideas??

Everyone with an official iphone account and having problems with youtube is most likely connected to an activation issue. The way to over-come this is to either delete your activation records and then allow iTunes to activate your phone... or restore to 1.1.3 using iTunes, unplug the phone from iTunes when its finished restoring and rebooting... then use ZiPhone for Jailbreak only... then open iTunes and allow it to activate!

Thanks for the help Stewcp. Your "start over from scratch" idea worked beautifully. I reloaded my phone using the restore command in iTunes the re-broke/re-unlocked using ZiPhone GUI 3, and youtube/sync works beautifully.

As far as my original response above, where I freaked out after applying the method philo suggested, the reason it did not work (phone was very slow and unresponsive to touches) was because of a permissions problem. I am comfortable with linux/unix, definitely comfortable enough to move files and change permissions, etc., but no where did it say that you needed to change the permissions on lockdownd for it to work properly (when you use gzip -d to decompress the archive, it sets default permissions of which are not correct). Once I changed the permissions on that file, AND deleted the files inside activation_records, youtube worked fine. Unfortunately it ruined my sync, which is why I think Stewcp's suggestion worked.

Thanks again for your help, again this method DOES work. Stewcp's method is definitely the best way to do it... by starting from scratch--the way the unlockers developed their programs.
